Belfast Taxi’s CIC Directors to issue legal proceedings National Cyber Security Centre (GCHQ) & Bray Leino Events
Our office will be issuing proceedings on behalf of our clients, the Directors of Belfast Taxi’s CIC, in relation to false accusations made by Bray Leino Events that black taxi tours were ‘run by the IRA’.
These remarks are alleged to have been made in a security briefing for attendees of a conference organised by the National Cyber Security Centre, who are linked to the British Governments General Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
Our office also represent a number of tour guides and taxi drivers who will also be issuing legal proceedings.
Our Pádraig Ó Muirigh commenting on the legal action said:
‘For over 40 years Belfast Taxis CIC (formerly West Belfast Taxis) has been central in respect to the provision of local transportation services primarily in North and West Belfast. The delivery of this community-based service has sustained thousands of jobs in times of political and social unrest while contributing significantly to the economic life of Belfast.
The accusations made against Belfast Taxi’s CIC’s Directors and its drivers are false, unfounded and defamatory. We will take whatever steps are necessary to vindicate our client’s position in relation to any defamatory comments made against them will not hesitate to issue legal proceedings where necessary.’
